What’s a Golfathon?
A Golfathon is simply 40 golfers attempting to play 50 holes of golf in one afternoon for a good cause. The goal is to raise as many pledges as possible for each hole that the golfer plays. For example, if the golfer raises pledges that total $25 per hole, that golfer will raise $1250 for the cause. Our goal is for each golfer to raise $25 a hole. If we can get 40 golfers to do this…wow.!!!
It’s that simple!
Golfathon Rules!
Q: What are the rules of a ‘Golfathon’?
A: In short, they are quite different from normal golf! Some adjustments to ‘Best Ball’ and ‘playing through’ have been made to help keep things moving, and we would rather keep the rules a surprise for newcomers when they arrive.
Q: How can you golf 50 holes in one afternoon?
A: Though golfing 50 holes is a challenge, it can and has been done. Each golfer will be given their own cart, a bunch of balls, and plenty of nourishment and sent on their way. We close down the golf course and spread up to 40 golfers across the course. So no waiting around, no looking for lost balls, and gimmies are generous. Most golfers will average 1 hour and 45 minutes per 18 holes during the day of the event.
You can do it!!! Will you help us make a difference?
On Monday, May 21, 2012, 40 golfers will do what seems like the impossible… attempt to play 50 holes of golf in one day.
Although it will be exhausting, we want to help raise money for a cause near and dear to our hearts, Keuka Comfort Care Home. Will you please help make a difference in the lives of our terminally ill and their loved ones by sponsoring a golfer in KCCH 1st annual Golfathon?
I ask you to sponsor at $.50, $1.00 or $2.00 per hole. Our golfers goal is to attempt to play at least 50 holes of golf and raise over $500.
Thank you for the opportunity to share this challenge with you.
Please consider participating in this unique fundraising event for Keuka Comfort Care Home and make a difference in our community.
