Big Barn Bonanza is coming!!!
Sale starts: June 1st from 9 am – 4 pm and June 2nd from 9 am – 2 pm at the Yates County Fairgrounds located on Old Rte 14a, Penn Yan.
We are gearing up for another exciting Big Barn Bonanza! Joanne Drewno and her volunteers have already been collecting bigger pieces of furniture and household items throughout the year and finding storage places for them. She is very excited by some of the beautiful items that have been donated and thankful for the items that have been promised to us, but that the won’t show up until Memorial Day at the Yates County Fairgrounds.
Keuka Comfort Care Home is having its famous annual garage sale Friday June 1st, 9am – 4pm and Saturday June 2nd, 9am – 2pm, at the Yates County Fairgrounds located on Old Rte 14a, Penn Yan.
We will have volunteers at the Fairgrounds to accept your donations starting on Monday, May 28th, 10am-2pm and Tuesday, May 29th, 10am-4pm.
With spring cleaning just around the corner, please consider saving your best items for our garage sale. If you could hold onto those items and bring them to the Fairgrounds on that Monday or Tues prior to the sale we would appreciate it.
We will be accepting “like new” household items, such as glassware, kitchenware, baby items, paintings and pictures, antiques, furniture, decorations, jewelry and linens to name a few. Volunteers will be on hand to accept your donation and help you with your items. If you need your donation transported call KCCH for pick-up that week.
This year, we have decided not to take in clothing and shoes, we have simply run out of room. We will also not be accepting electronics, such as TV’s, computers, printers… or any large gym/exercise equipment, skis or artificial Christmas trees. We have foun that these items just don’t sell.
If you have a questionable donation, please call Keuka Comfort Care Home at 315-536-1690, prior to our take in dates of May 28th and May 29th. If you have ever been to the sale, you will know that we pride ourselves on having a well-organized, clean set-up with fair prices and you never know what you are going to find.
Our volunteers, many of whom gave up not only their Memorial Day, but their whole week, spent most of Friday morning, helping patrons box up their items, store them in our holding area, help them get their boxes or furniture to their cars or trucks, and do it with a smile and then they came in again on Saturday. It’s a lot of work, but it’s so much fun to see what treasures we can find. If you would like to become a volunteer, we would love to have you. Give us a call and let us know what you would like to do and when you could be available. Even a couple of hours can be a great help to getting everything organized.
At the end of the sale, we invited other non-profits to come up and take any of our leftovers if they had a use for them. We welcome any non-profits to get in touch with us to let us know you would like to participate and we will get you on our list.
Thanks to everyone who came to last years sale and we can’t wait to see you this year and bring a friend!
